HEROQUEST (THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS)

HeroQuest was created by Steve Barker, who worked for the UK division of Milton Bradley (MB). now called Hasbro.

MB and Games Workshop (GW) collaborated to manufacture HeroQuest. While (GW) manufactured Advanced HeroQuest.

Briefly HeroQuest was released in England/Europe /Australia in about 1989 (ALSO PRINTED IN MANY DIFFERENT LANGUAGES) & then released in America/Canada in about 1991. The America/Canada versions are slightly different.

SEE HEROQUEST PAGE FOR MORE INFO.

Other differences that I have noticed

The very first English release of HeroQuest had a few slight differences than the second English release

( I am not comparing the US/Canadian version to the English version just the English versions)

1/ The Quest book 1st Quest was the Maze not The Trial.

2/ The Rule book had special rules for the maze and arena combat. Also some rules were clarified in the second edition.

3/ The 14 Equipment cards had 2 shield cards and 2 helmet cards. Also some of the text read slightly differently.

4/ The 4 Character Cards the text was slightly different in appearance only.
